Has anyone ever come up with an easy way to access those upper shock fasteners on an assembled Hot Rod?
The only way I've been able to get to them has been to take out the lower shock mounting bolt and swing the shock partly out of the way. Even then, it's a pain.
I considered a 'trap door' in the inner fender/trunk wall to gain access, but that's also a bit of work to do for something that's not used but once in a while.
I feel the "clunk" I have at the back end is due to a small amount of play in the shock eye and the bolt O.D. I think a quick bit of tightening would get rid of it. It was quiet and rattle free for many years. It was after I changed out the Koni's for the QA1 shocks that the clunking started (not immediately, but over a couple of years).
Ideas?
Thanks,
Tom
