Hey guys,

Happy Friday!

I've been planning to use the FF-supplied gas pedal along with Forte's mechanical linkage, but I've read a few times that guys aren't thrilled with the pedal assembly. Has anyone used the FF gas pedal with Mike's linkage, or did you use a different pedal? I've also been looking at the one that Breeze sells (I'm guessing it's very similar to the Russ Thompson version) but wanted to get some input first.

Thanks!

Rob

Mark sells great stuff, that said his pedal is NOT the same as the Russ Thompson pedal. A friend bought one and the attaching bracket bent very quickly. Russ's mounting bracket was cut from solid aluminum, not from a bent sheet.

I used the FF pedal with Mike's linkage. Works great. It wasn't a part that I felt needed overthinking, rethinking, or refinement. it's a gas pedal.

Well said, (it just a gas pedal) who really cares what it looks like when it's buried under your foot

I used the Forte Linkage, the FFR pedal bracket assy and the Breeze foot pad. I had to slightly modify the upper deck of the foot box to allow the Forte outer arm to clear because I fabricated my own 3/16 aluminum firewall that I mounted forward 1.75". I wanted to use existing screw holes to mount the forte linkage. This raised the whole thing up about 1/2". I did not like the way the Breeze pedal assy attached to the frame so I used the FFR supplied one. I did use the Breeze pedal pad to match the Wilwood pads.

I will disagree with some, I believe the gas pedal is critical if you want to control 500 ponies in any sort of performance mode. I have tried 3 iterations (Russ, A different bar with Russ set up, flipped a couple ways and the Breeze setup) all using the Forte linkage. I did not use the F5 setup so can't directly answer that part. I think it would be easy to change later, so give it a try. You will know when you drive it the first time if it needs work. My current set up is the breeze pedal setup, I like the relief that it has for the toe. With the straight bars (Russ setup), I found my toe was actually pushing the pedal instead of the ball of my foot, felt it was harder to sense pressure/actuation of the pedal that way. My wish would be a floor mount, but have not worked that out yet, may still do that in the future. I have not had any issues with the Breeze setup, it could be secured to the brace more sturdy if one wanted to.
