I'm installing the fuel pick up and the assembly manual says ther are several "tweaks" for fuel injected engines (but isn't real clear about what exactly the "tweaks" are. I'm running a Chevy 350 wit Holly 650 carb. I don't think I need to make any "tweaks" to the fuel pick up. Anyone have experience with this? I don't want to mess with the factory part if I don't have to.

Most builders are running 3/8" fuel supply and return lines and in tank fuel pumps for their EFI systems due to fuel delivery requirements. The FFR supplied pickup is 5/16" supply with 1/4" return which I believe is borderline for fuel delivery requirements on EFI systems. I'm running a straight carb with mechanical fuel pump and still decided to upsize to 3/8" fuel supply line using a fuel pickup mod idea from the F500 guy (Lance). More experienced builders with EFI systems will probably chime in.

No tweaks needed with your 350/Carb setup.... However, if you ever think the future may hold an EFI, do it now during the build... much easier now vs later.

The "mods" are just opening up the ends of the connections on the pickup outlet. The ends are kind of flared in to ease installation of the connector. The instructions just suggest using a drill to open up this slight restriction. I did it for my EFI system. Does it help...? maybe a little... It doesn't hurt.

I would suggest enlarging you're return just to be prepared for the fuel injection if necessary. I put an intank fuel pump from a 97 Mustang cobra in mine but used a 750 holley carburetor had to inlarge the return line so my regulator would work. I also used an 8 fuel lines both supply and return. Had to inlarge fuel pump return very carefully it can be done . It would have been better if I had thought ahead . Live and learn:confused:
