Looking at registering my 33 this spring in RI and recently reached out to the inspector. Besides needing a front license plate, fenders, windshield wiper (can be manual), I also need full steel front and rear bumpers since it's a Replica/Kit car. Anyone else have to build/put on bumpers for theirs?

Yes, I bought bumpers (from Speedway, IIRC...) for a '33 or '34 to adapt to my Hot Rod. The two major issues were that the bumpers aren't wide enough for the FFR car if you are running full fenders, and the stock bumper mounting hardware does not easily mate to the FFR chassis - especially in the front. Overcoming that hurdle required a lot of design and fabrication time. Sorry, no photos currently available since the car is disassembled and stored in boxes.

Keith, thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into the Speedway version. I'm hoping not to spend much on them since they will be falling off the car as soon as I get home from getting it inspected and registered.

Yes, living in New York l have the same issue. I also put 1933 rear bumper in my build. For the rear I built a framework inside the trunk that bolted to the rear shock towers. The kits rear taillight weren’t dot approved so I mounted the rear bumper in that spot. I’ll dig through some old build pics. “Food for thought “
