I have seen some posts on this subject. The lower hinges of the door are hitting the door opening of the body. I did not cut back the rolled edge of the dash yet because there is a huge gap between the cowl and dash on the passenger side and it is tight on the drivers side.

The body to striker pad also looks like it needs to be adjusted forward.
My concern is the why the rolled edge is not flush with the dash? Do I cut back the rolled edge and then shim the back side of the dash to fit?

I don't see any leather straps that limit how far the door opens.

Looks like the body needs to move forwards? It's up to you to trim back the rolled edge

Correct I don't have the leather straps on yet. The issue is the door wont close because the hinge is hitting the body224588

Trim the cowl, move the body forward so that the flange around the door opening is 3/16" or so ahead of the striker plate. Push the rocker panels all the way in to the chassis in line with the front of the doors on both sides and in front of the rear wheel on the passenger side. On the driver's side pull the rocker out 1/2" to 3/4" in front of the rear wheel. From there it's a matter of hinge adjustment on the chassis and door positioning on the hinge. More than likely the doors are oversized and will need some trimming but go easy because you can very easily get yourself into trouble. It's all just part of the process.

Good advice as I'm about to start this process here very soon and could use all the advice I can get.
