Hi,

Can any of you tech guys please help me identify which is the Corvette side and the Porsche side of the axle? The manual states that "The Smaller Porsche CV boot fits over the end that necks down further than the other" But both sides seem to be about the same size.

Your lower photo is the one that uses the Porsche CV (the end where the diameter is smaller than on the opposite). Another check is to note that the Corvette end of the GTM axle shaft was machined to match exactly to the the end of the Corvette axle shaft you took the CV joint from, so comparing those ends should confirm that you have it configured correctly. Let me know if anything appears to be contradictory.

Take care,

I'm using a new set of outer CV joints and sold the ones that came with my donor suspension so I had no way of comparing them. Is clear now thanks for the info. On the other side do you know if the correct Porsche CV for the Mendeola is part # 930 332 034 00? This # is for a 1978-1979 930 turbo, 911 76-77 turbo and a 81-84 911 3.3L H6.

It should be a 930 40mm CV joint.
