Windshield body cut-out measurements

Hey fellow 289 builders!

I'm entering the bodywork phase of my build and realized that although I ordered my kit with the body cut-outs, FFR failed to cut, or even mark, the body for the windshield posts.

If someone has a rough 289 body, with the cut-outs, could you please provide me with some measurements for where to make my initial cut-outs, maybe based off the parting lines? I did a basic forum search and found a post from JKliener, but it appears to be for a standard MKIV body, not a 289.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi Mike,

I'm sorry - I missed your post. I have my 289 body outside - I can take measurements for you in a day or two (right now it's 17F and the body is covered in snow). But I can definitely help you out.

This is on drivers side. Passenger side similar, I have extra pics if needed.
Slot appears to be 1.75”
Probably not critical to the 1/16” as you’ll need some adjustment, and the windshield post and gasket is larger to cover the hole
