Balance bar clevis spacing?

I could use some insight on how to adjust the balance bar clevises to maintain the .2-.25" of total spacing to maintain the pushrod alignment... Is this something that needs to be done before the pedal box is installed? Mine have a half inch of total space between the clevises.

I used 2 sets of feeler gauges stacked at 0.11" for each side to achieve 0.22" total. There is also a YT video at the Wilwood channel that uses quarters to do it. I set mine with the pedal box installed but before screwing in the MC push rods into the clevises. The setting out of the box was pretty close on mine and only required minor adjustment.
