Hi guys,

I've reserved a 30th anniversary Coupe kit. It is currently set to be delivered next month, but I'm still on the fence. I went to the build school and obviously received some exposure to what the process will be like. And while I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, I've never taken on a project like this. I'm nervous I'll get past the easier "bolt-on"stage to the "now you really have to figure things out" phase and lose motivation. Plus, I've never even seen a finished coupe in person.

I'm wondering if there is anyone in the group who is within an hour or two drive of Nashville that wouldn't mind me coming by sometime to just chat about your build experience and see a finished car. I'm headed up to Bowling Green, KY this weekend (January 17th) to autocross at the National Corvette Museum (bringing my daughter with me - going to try to talk her into giving it a try). So if anyone is up that way, I could swing by then.

Thanks!

If you're like me, and it seems most others, you will be come MORE motivated (obsessed?) the further in the build you get.

You really don't need to do much "figuring stuff out" unless you want to. I've pretty much customized everything I could, but you could stick to the manual (and Edwardb 's build thread) and have a fantastic, fun car.

I agree with JimStone - if you stick to the manual and use this forum for advice you will be able to get thru it. Its when you start blazing your own path that the scope creep kills you.

Looks like Jim and I are both in Michigan, but hopefully someone local to you chimes in. The other option is to take a trip to Boston to visit FF in person. They usually have multiple coupes on display that you could explore for as long as youd like.

I also highly recommend visiting FF in person, it's well worth the trip if you can swing it.

Thanks guys for the info and encouragement. I can’t see getting to the factory before my kit is set to arrive. I wish I could. Hopefully someone around me will chime in. Thanks again!
