I've researched column turn signals for the original 289. Cobra Performance sells a turn signal lever, but it's like $361 and they are sold out. The lever looks very similar to the VW Beetle/Karmann Ghia of the late 1960s but at almost a third of the cost sold at jbugs.com. I was wondering if anyone has tried using the VW one, if it fits the MKIV column?

Nick Acton has one, but the website indicates it is sold out... If you give them a call, they are VERY helpful...

Have you looked at the one from Frank at i.e. 427 garage? I went with Frank's turn signal switch and swapped out the stalk and hazard button for 1965 Mustang components. It gives it a more "period correct" look...

Thanks! I'll take a look. I wonder if Acton will be getting more in. Do you have a picture of yours?

Before the final install I plan to black out the inside mechanism of the turn signal that is visible through the cover and better align the stalk so it is at 90*...
If you call Bonni at Acton Customs tomorrow she will be able to give you the status of when they expect to have more available.

FYI I found a video of Nick's turn signal - gives some insights on how it needs to be setup:

It sure looks like the same VW setup that was referred to earlier in the thread.

That's a very slick solution! Cost-wise it's comparable to ie427's setup (assuming you buy Microflexlab's controller, turn signal and column) but you also get a consolidated lighting controller as part of the setup. And if you really want to you can use the FFR toggle switch turn signal instead of the column-mounted switch. I'm definitely going to look into this option!!!
