Anyone with a 3-link use an aftermarket rear diff cover for the 8.8?

If so, which cover did you use? Were there any clearance issues with the panhard bar?

I am getting ready to fill the rear diff and will need to change out the gear oil after 500 or so miles. It would be much easier having the fill and drain plugs with an aftermarket cover versus having to remove the cover to when it comes time to change the gear oil...

I don't understand why you want to change the oil? No new cars are returned for oil changes after a few miles. Differential changes are often recommended at 100,000 miles. same with transmissions The old wifes tale of changing the oil after 500 miles was debunked 50 years ago.

I used the SVE cover from LMR. You can see it in my build thread in post 31. No clearance issues on my MK3.

i just installed the aluminum one like shown in these photos. My chrome one for Moser that came with the kit (MK5) was leaking as soon as I filled up.
I was surprised at the difference in price the name brands wanted. I settled for the $55 one I found online, it is probably Chinese, but after comparison, I could see no difference. No clearance issues.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I have a similar cast aluminum girdle style diff. cover like the one BEAR has.

The only issue I had was that it did not clear the ffmetal dropped battery box. I had to modify the box and use a smaller battery to make it work.

I did not find out until I had it fully installed. This photo is before I modified the box.

I've got a finned GT500 8.8 diff cover that I bought, then ended up switching to IRS...so no need for it. PM me if interested.

I appreciate the offer, but I already have the GT500 cover. I purchased it some time back for one of the Mustangs and forgot about it until a few days ago when I ran across it while searching for another part.

I have some slight scuffing with my vpm rear sway bar with an aftermarket cast cover.
