Doesn't seem to be much discussion on this, but I'm wondering what Charcoal Canister Vent Filter is commonly used for the Type 65 for the fuel tank AND where you are mounting these in the rear (if you have any pictures)?

Thanks in advance for the help!

PS - I did search for this for about 20 mins this morning but the forum search leaves a lot to be desired.

This post from my 20th Anniversary Roadster shows an approach several of us have used. Scroll down. https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?18591-EdwardBs-Mk4-8674-20th-Anniversary-Build&p=237685&viewfull=1#post237685. There are certainly others. This pic shows exactly where I placed it on my Coupe build.

For searching, don't use the forum search. Agree it's not accurate or useful. Use Google. Format: "site thefactoryfiveforum.com /search word(s)" without the quotes.

I bought this Evil Energy fuel filter from Amazon.

I removed the filter element, filled it full of Aquarium filter charcoal. Cut the mesh from the filter element and pressed it into the end of the housing to hold the charcoal in.

Used a 90 degree AN fitting and this small filter.

I bought the Breeze's Big Bore tank vent, so all hoses and fittings used are -8 or 1/2"

All in on the charcoal canister is around $65 bucks. And... it matched the Aeromotive fuel filter I used, so my OCD was satisfied.

I did pretty much the same thing. The only thing I did differently was to cut two disks out of a Scotchbrite pad and put them into the cannister, one at each end to keep the charcoal in and let the (scrubbed) vapour out.

I used some random bits of PVC and a $10 bag of charcoal from Amazon:

Pictorial of my homebrewed charcoal cannister constructed using barbed fittings, PVC pipe & bushings, a couple of discs cut from loosely woven Scotchbrite and a mesh bagged aquarium filter cartrige:

Used this on every car I've built and there are no fuel odors.

I stole this idea from another builder. Cheep 100 micron fuel filter from amazon for $20. Take out the guts and fill in. Comes out pretty clean looking.

I am using the OEM Ford charcoal filter from a 5.0 Mustang.. It was designed by automotive engineers specifically for the purpose, so I figured I couldn't go to far wrong..:) I mounted it to that frame under the trunk area, above the tank.

Yeah, I purchased the OEM unit when I built my Gen I 21 years ago, and thought I was pretty clever fabricating a mounting up front where it would be accessible. I do like the substitutions offered on this thread...

I went a little bigger on my 33 than most would but I made it work. https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-911-261-Evaporative-Emissions-Charcoal/dp/B07KFZ1WPW/ref=sr_1_1?adgrpid=184536838217&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.0fN4XW9RO6svR9d39VjzizFfC4KGHJ_jI 5uV1Gr213vt_42yhELuc05aZrAoDLdSL-H4iImgk_fepvY91lOv3LpJkZIIBTnH-8a_JlRRPOy1cGWfuQziE7sfmk1I_EBb5FNHhY-x3rcfYTXbVkZ2rdtqEsjC1Ew-pJwqCDdgJE7mgU7u2Q7wBS-LbbhpGij5KL_KL6xTfXEN-J9FYAXGqytHdGu6GWaHjhZv8Q-iGhE.Bt3s0_z5PkbxkXCFgyfimJpCqttMcaOdgwsJOVEY2VQ&dib_tag=se&hvadid=779576434258&hvdev=c&hvexpln=0&hvlocphy=9016327&hvnetw=g&hvocijid=1904369121947059967--&hvqmt=e&hvrand=1904369121947059967&hvtargid=kwd-1457881873128&hydadcr=5707_13276410_23948&keywords=dorman+911-261&mcid=b8295dfd6e8f383db98177050a9c6692&qid=1767973928&sr=8-1
