I am replacing the original fiberglass seats in my mk1.5 with brand new mk1v seats, can I just mount these tot he same holes in the floor pan?

If you mean Mk5 seats then you can use our 70602 Seat Mounting Kit for an appropriate amount of recline. You will need to remove carpet and insulation under the mounting plate.

Are the MK5 seats markedly different than the mk3 and mk4 seats?
I know my Mk3.1 seats had steel frames that you needed to line up with the steel floor plate and frame, for solid mounting. The builder chose where to drill the holes depending on the seat position desired. For example I moved mine towards the rear bulkhead as much as possible for needed legroom.
I'm not sure how the base of the fiberglass framed glass seats were constructed.
You might get lucky and be able to use the same the existing holes. Try running the bolts up from the underside, and see where they may line up with the new seat's framing. If the bolts line up with a solid part of the seat frame, mark, and drill the frames and Bob's your uncle.:)

The Mk4 steel framed seats won't use the same holes as the old seats but locating and drilling new is simple. The Breeze seat mounts are excellent!!!! but you'll still need to make new holes.
