Space under the Snakebite drop trunk for fuel cell/fabricated fuel tank?

For those who have the Snakebite drop trunk installed, how much room was there under the floor of the trunk above the gas tank? The fabricated tank from boyds welding is 12" tall and the stock mustang tank is 10.9" tall. The fabricated tank is attractive to me because it allows me to use my aeromotive A1000 stealth pump I already have without modifications, so i wont need to purchase a mustang tank AND a new fuel pump. And the tank is reasonably priced at $500ish.

There's about enough room for the fuel sender and plug to stick up and clear bottom of the drop trunk.

In the Coupe there is lots of trunk space unlike the Cobra so unless you want a hidden area the extra space is not that important. last Summer my wife and I did a 7 night trip and there was lots of space for our stuff. We have also done similar trips in my Mkll and even with a dropped trunk it is tight. I skipped the drop trunk in my Coupe so I could install a larger gas tank for increased range if I needed it.

I actually measured mine at Brent's request. Under the access hole I have about 7/8" between the floor of the drop trunk and the tallest part of the sheet metal. Based on my conversation with Brent, I think there is some variation in this number. I suppose if push came to shove you could cut down the sides of the drop trunk and inch or so and redrill to raise up the floor for clearance.

The top of the fuel tank im considering has recessed the fuel hat and fuel sending unit below the top of the tank, so that may be an option to make the drop trunk slightly more shallow.. So many options to consider!!

This should help add some color. Here are some images througj the drivers wheel well. There is not a lot of height here. The drop trunk is 6 inches deep from the floor to the bottome of the drop trunk.
