I have a blueprint 302 with the Holly sniper 2 FI system in my Mk4 cobra. I am using Vintage gauges.

The blueprint sniper system has the water temperature sending unit already installed near thermostats housing.

Where do I connect the water temperature sending unit that came with the vintage gauges. Pictured is the sending unit already installed by blueprint and the one that came with the vintage gauges.

There should be a separate bung on the DS of your intake. Some water necks might have a separate bung as well

I used vintage gauges on my initial build. I tried an aftermarket water neck but had issues with leaking. The original water neck I ended up drilling and tapping for the sensor adaptor that you show. The correct NPT tap wasn’t too expensive.
As below, it had an indent where it looks like one is supposed to live.

Be careful as it may be cooler until thermostat opens… Watch the sniper handheld on you first start! I did not set the fan temps and it got hot. They are off by default. Good luck.

That position for a ECT is not going to work well. If the thermostat fails closed the temp gauge will read cold while the engine overheats. The Sniper unit will warn you if you have the hand held in sight.

For the OP, there should be another port in the drivers side of the intake. That is a good place for the temp sensor.

That’s a good point. That port is being used by the sniper on mine. I’m going to swap the two so my gauge has the more reliable reading. Thanks!

The Sniper needs an accurate temperature to operate correctly. After reading through your linked post I am not sure if you plan on running a heater or not but, the port you have the heater hose to water pump line in, is the one I used for a temp sensor. I have a heater and installed a T fitting in the port to allow the sensor and heater hose to be connected.

I have nearly the same setup, but 302 instead of 347, and I used the DS port that the experts above suggested. Everything works great. I would just add that I also followed another procedure that many experts suggested during the build: I chose to wait to install that sender unit until I was ready to fill the cooling system, and used it to "burp" the system. The PS sender unit bung location can be a place where air can get trapped and potentially create a hot spot down the road, so I opened it slightly, too. Hopefully others will chime in here.
I'm not sure how often that is the case, but I can happily report that I have had no issues. (knocking on wood...)
Happy building!
