MK5 Dash - turn signal stalk template and hazard switch

Wondering if anyone here has used the template in the kit to cut clearance for the turn signal lever.
If it helps, I am building a complete kit MK5 with the GM style turn signal switch, and the FFR vinyl dash with the glove box.

Also - I keep seeing mention, in build threads, of a hazard switch, but I have not seen one in the kit...in fact, I am not sure it is mentioned in the RF book

My Hazard button came wrapped in some white tissue paper in the Turn Signal Switch box. It is a black button that screws into the side of the turn signal.

I didn’t get a template (Beta car) so just winged it. The hazards are
a push/pull at about 5 o’clock on the turn signal switch.

I am doing that right now. Is this the template you are talking about?

I think I will actually be installing that to keep the return springs from slipping off the lumps on the steering shaft cam.
Also, this is the hazard button. Like Jeff said, in a piece of tissue in the bag with that template.

The template will not fit over the upper steering shaft. It will only fit the upper tapered section. That is what confused me until I found out it was only a template, not a part to be used for anything other than cutting the slot in the dash.
