I'm not sure if this was a good choice, but I got a 4-link with my MK5 kit. The manual skips over the 4-link, and I'm not sure if there is a supplement... but I have been working off of the gallery here:

https://www.factoryfive.com/galleries/type-65-coupe/4-link-rear-suspension/

I have it mounted on all 4 points, and now I am trying to figure out the real axle straps that came with my kit. I see them on the MK4 gallery, but I do not see the connection point on the MK5 chassis.

Has anyone installed the 4-link rear end on the MK5 yet?

Throw them in the round file, you don''t need them. The shocks become the limiting factor... I question why you'd want a 4-link?

If you need or want adjustable uppers and/or lowers to tackle pinion and thrust angle adjustments, then look no further than Spohn Performance.

A friend of mine has their uppers on his Factory-5 33 Hot Rod and they really made pinion angle adjustments a breeze while improving ride quality.

Yes, I am questioning this decision as well. My first time at all this, to be honest I believe at the time I thought IRS was overkill and 3-link seemed weird.

4 link is certainly not the favorite but...it can be made to work reasonably well. My first recommendation is to add a front swaybar and NOT a rear. Depending on what springs FFR sends, you may want to go softer but let that go until you have some miles on it.

I think you'll be okay with the 4-Link if you simply add the SPOHN uppers.
The ride and handling on my pals 33 Hot Rod improved significantly.
He used stock lowers from Factory-5 and it works fairly well.
Just understand that he's cruising not canyon carving.

Good Luck!
