For those that do not know me, every year since 1979 I've taken an annual New Years Day run with the top down, rain, snow, sleet, sunny, -3 degrees to 87 degrees, no matter what the weather, I've taken the ride. This morning being no exception, other than the addition of video from my new GoPro (13 black). With my previous driving video nothing but wind noise, I purchased two camera covers to crank down on this issue, this morning was the simple foam cover I bought off Amazon for $9.95, seems to work well but may try the other one next week.

Of course there cannot be a NYD ride without a little concern, this year, in the 32 degree temps, the steering wheel/column developed a squeak, perhaps because of the cold weather, perhaps something quirky just showing itself. Given everything else I've gone through while bringing the car back to safe, street-able shape, it's not surprising that something like this would pop up. Not something I've ever encountered before, will have to investigate when I have time.

Here is wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year.

I had 2080 out on the 16th while testing the new GoPro, lots of wind noise, but still a nice ride when I did not stumble across traffic or utility type road construction. Seemed like every time I made a turn, there was nothing but traffic and construction going on. Coming out of the regional airport headed to RT85 south, at the last minute decided to not get on the highway, you guys will see it late in the video below, damn good thing I made that choice or I might have had a 1.5 hour stop and go video addition just to go the 4.5 miles to the next exist, yes, really.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease, as the saying goes.

Thanks for the vids.
