Hi, everyone. Happy New Year!!!

I just ordered my Roadster Mk5 Complete Kit #222467.

I found the plan for the body buck in the Installation Manual. I did not see a chassis dolly plan. I would like to build one.

I saw a few entries of existing chassis dollies, but I did not see any that had a design / plan to build one from wood. The pictures I have seen looked great.

Thanks!
Don (Runt)

Someone just posted a free one in Austin TX, if you're anywhere near there.

I took the basic design here and modified it. The dolly is 44 inches wide 60 inches long
Instead of notching the 4x4, I placed 2 ~19.25" 2x6s on the bottom of the 4x4 to sandwich the center 2x6 x 60", then used a piece of OSB to make the triangle braces underneath
I used a 2x4 on top of the 4x4

So the difference is I used
1 2" x 4" x 8'
2 2" x 6" x 8' (a bit of waste here
1 2'x4' ~3/8" thick OSB

and the rest of the same materials in the image

RobHartley, this was exactly what I was looking for. Since it is for a Mark IV, I won't set the top row until I can measure the offsets for the Mk5 Space Frame. I appreciate it.

You won't need the offsets for the space frame it will sit flat on the top of the top 2x4, put a layer of carpet on top of the to 2x4 to protect the frame (if you got it powder coated from FFR (my doesn't show the carpet on the top yet)

Fot the MK5, you just need a flat platform with wheels about 4'x4'. You can see what I used for my Coupe in my delivery video.
