Just sharing a suggestion for cold weather.....don't know if y'all ever considered it. I have a heated under-jacket I use on my motorcycle....you would not BELIEVE how well it works. There are a variety of brands and styles available..... my own is by Harley-Davidson and available online or at a dealership. They come as a vest (sleeveless) or with sleeves. I strongly recommend getting the sleeves. The amazing thing is how thin this jacket is, it's made to go under a leather jacket. There are also accessories (heated gloves, heated pants) that you can buy that plug into to the jacket, but I have found that the jacket WITH the sleeves was all I needed on a motorcycle. I have not yet used it in the car as I just thought of it...... need to get second harness from HD and wire it up.

I second this.
I have a Milwaukee M12 heated jacket with a hood.
The 3.0 AH power source keeps you warm for hours, I keep another M12 battery in my pocket, I have yet to need the second battery.

I did the same. I have a vest style 12v that plugs into my accessory jack.. With my ski jacket, a pair of gloves and a hoodie, I'm pretty comfortable in down to about 35F. Which is the closest I've driven to date.

This is a great idea guys - thanks! I was thinking of adding seat heaters but this sounds even better. I’ll have heat to keep my feet warm but the heated jacket sounds like the perfect complement.

On a motorcycle (which is a lot more exposure to wind and the cold air) I have found that the jacket (WITH the sleeves...I keep harping on that) keeps my body core so toasty that the blood flows well to my extremities and I'm fine. (When a human is exposed to cold, blood to the limbs is restricted to keep vital organs warm.) Also, I've read that a human body loses 30 percent of it's feet thru the head so in cold weather I wear a full-face helmet on my bike. I'm thinking I might also get one of those old-school fur-lined "caps" like the WWII pilots used to wear.

Plus, those leather fur-lined caps look quite classy (honestly!).

I did the same a dozen years ago with my 2012 MkIV Coyote build. Heater/defrost, heated seats, and a jack wired under the seat for heated motorcycle under jacket. I was using the roadster for long cross country touring. Worked great. I found you really needed to seal up your outer jacket well around your neck and wrists to keep the cool air from blowing in.

Not done with my build yet but I'm wired up for my heated MC jacket liner. Many miles on the bike well below freezing and always kept me toasty warm.
-For my wife, I purchased a battery powered heated jacket.
-I addition, I got an electric blanket for her legs. I believe I got it from Summit. It's approximately 18" by30". I think this will work out great!
