Hi all! I've done extensive reading and searching, but I've yet to find definitive answers for this, so I'm turning to the community for help and guidance.

I'm doing a Type 65 Coupe. IRS suspension, 302 blueprint engine. I've heard many people talk about swapping the Koni's for double-adjustable (QA1's, I believe), but I'm not sure about the exact fit for these or the part numbers on QA1. I called QA1 today, and they don't know either, though I'm sure people have bought them from them because I've seen them in a few places already.

So, any help or links on double-adjustables that work for the Type 65 Coupe would be greatly appreciated! The goal is to get the ride height on the street as high as I reasonably can. If I can get 4"+ that would be amazing, and then have the ability to adjust them down for track days or something. OR alternatively, if the ones provided in the kit are good to go for that target 4" height and you've set those up, that would also be great to know.

Thanks in advance!

I'm sure someone with the QA1 shocks will be able to help with specific measurements for what works on the Coupe, but the double adjustment provided by the QA1 shocks has nothing to do with ride height, which is adjusted using the spring. The shock adjustments allow you to change the dampening and rebound of the shock.

Thanks Papa! Been going through your build thread these last 2 days actually - much appreciated and looking forward to watching and learning more as I go.

I bought these from Summit, they work very well on track and easily adjustable without removing the wheels.

You can get 4" clearance easy. Not sure if the standard Coupe (not a Coupe-R like mine) has the two sets of suspension mounting holes - one set for race height, the other for street?

Also Check with GT_Rich, he has some great write ups on the topic of suspension and QA1. I had added DD401 to the front of my 35 Truck and absolutely love them

The "standard" coupe does come with two sets of holes. I have the double adjustable on mine with a ride height of 4 1/2 inches using the upper hole for the street.

Great thanks - did you all these for all 4 corners? What spring weights did you use in the front and back? Or did you just use the kit provided springs?

Mine is a Coupe-R, set up for race only, so YMMV - I'm running 750 in front and 650 springs in the rear with the roll bars set to mid stiff. Ride height is 3.25" front rakes to 3.5" rear. Front LCA's are in the upper holes for race height and the shock upper mount is in the lower hole because the QA1 shock is an inch shorter than the Koni's, works fine as it is. GT Rich moved his LCA's to the lower holes for a lower roll center - I'm thinking about that - but the car is handling very well right now, so maybe I won't change anything yet. See this post about springs, shock settings, etc. Plus a lot of whin ing about power steering pumps and racks:
