Hello everyone!
I just got started, my first build. Going slow, but I think that’s best.

I got the 8.8 moser rear end with standard brakes. The instructions are a bit brief so I want to make sure I’m doing this right.

I’ve attached the caliper mounts to the rear end:

I fit on the caliper, but it is not centered over the rotor.

Does this need to be centered?

There are spacer washers, the only location these could move the caliper to center would be between the two plates, however the washers are not the right size for these bolts.

Any advice?

Thanks fam!

I only worked on the IRS setup, but similar (same?) brakes. Different mounts obviously.

The caliper mounting bracket is what you want to measure off of, I believe. The caliper itself slides, but the mounting bracket is what holds your pads. What does the distance from the pad mounting ledges to each side of the rotor measure to be?

Yes the gap at the red arrow should be about the same as that at the blue arrow.

Run a couple of lug nuts on to assure the rotor is seated fully and then check the gaps. They don't need to be exactly equal, they just need to keep the rotor from grinding on the bracket. Looks like a trip to ACE or TrueValue is in order. Do a little extra looking, including in the metric sections, for thin washers.
