Hey everyone,

For those of you in Florida that have your Cobra registered as a 1965, what do you have listed as the manufacture? If you wouldn't mind, could you send me a PM with your manufacturer please?
I am aware of the fairly recent rule changes and I know the process for registering as an ASPT type.
I'm not looking to restart the conversation around registering as a 1965 vs "Assembled From Parts".
I am just curious for those currently registered as a 1965 what you have for the manufacturer.

Thank you for any replies!

There is a good thread here.

https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?50590-Orlando-FL-registration

Here is my experience. I drove to OATA in Orlando and followed the TL-48 process and got my tag and title. To answer your question, it was:

Year: 1965
Make: COBR
Body: 2D
Primary Brand: Replica

2 days later I got a call from OATA saying that FL does not accept COBR as a Make. They tried to change it to FFR, but FL would not accept them as a Make because they are not registered and it needed to file TL-41 process.

If you are already aware of this process, hopefully it helps the next person. Fast forward 2 months, I’m still in the process of trying to get my COO back from FL so I can start the TL-41 process.

Some people have been successful with “COBR” so you may get lucky. I figured I’d let you know my experience so you got all the facts. Good luck.

Thanks rickster991. I appreciate the info. I am familiar with the process here in FL, but was just curious how others got past the manufacturer field. FFR is a trailer manufacturer and on the DMV screens there's actually a prompt that alerts the DMV employee not to use FFR. I'm guessing that the office where you went filled out the forms and submitted the data later and the manufacturer field kicked back.

I think the days of the DMV employees just putting in whatever that matched a manufacturer they had on file are over.
Thank you again!
