Does anyone have any recommendations for an engine builder and machine shop in southern New Jersey? I just purchased a 1968 302 engine block for my upcoming build and am looking for a reliable shop to have it built into a solid 300 - 350 hp engine for strictly street driving.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

Although he isn't south Jersey, this is the guy who will be doing the machine work for my 331. He'll be doing the block prep and balancing. I checked out his shop - he's a one-man operation but has been doing this for 25 years and had some nice stuff he was working on. While I was there, he was getting ready to dyno a 428 for a '67 GT-500 that he just completed.

Thanks Rob,

Farmingdale isn't horribly far, I'll give him a call in the morning.

How is the build going? Have you finished inventory yet?

Mike,

I just wrapped up inventory. I have a very short list of missing items. A couple of things are backordered, including my pin drive lower control arms and spindles, which I hope to have soon. I'm planning to take the body off the chassis this weekend and start pulling the aluminum panels. Will be interesting ;)
