I am looking for anyone to confirm or deny the following.

I started to install my Moroso pickup (part #24580) shown here:

https://www.moroso.com/oil-pump-pick-up-ford-coyote-gen-4-for-20568-20569-20570/?srsltid=AfmBOoqwPNM3KGB4q7kYJCyLQlGLEnWXHFTggOsmh p3lHQNUKJL__kGS

I removed the OEM pickup and with the new o-ring in place on the Moroso unit I placed it in the pump inlet and realized the pickup support bracket appears to line up with the existing OEM main cap stud and extension. The Moroso kit comes with a new stud and extension but when I mated everything up it seems as though the OEM hardware works and maybe the Moroso hardware is provided in case one needs it? A comparison of the length of the standoff shows them to be nearly identical in length.

So the million dollar question is - do I need to bother removing the OEM main cap stud and spacer to simply install the Moroso bits? Doesn't appear as though it's necessary but this is a pretty important piece so I thought I would ask. Of course it's Friday night so I can't call Moroso until Monday and of course my engine is now spending the weekend with it's proverbial pants down.

If the new stud extension matches the one already on the engine, I say put it back in the box and install the pickup. Don't disturb the already installed part. The Gen 3 Coyote was the only one I'm aware of that didn't have the stud extension from the factory. The Gen 3 Coyote used a composite (aka plastic...) oil pan that had an integral pickup. So it wasn't necessary to support the pickup from the main cap. In order to install the Moroso pickup it was necessary to remove the regular cap bolt and replace with the stud extension. Those who installed a Gen 3 Coyote (including me) knows about this. Maybe Mororso is confused or it's an error.

I installed it with the OEM parts that are installed on the engine. The new pickup bolted right in. I measured everything several times and they were identical, so no need to replace anything.

Thanks guys. You have somewhat confirmed what I was thinking. I find it a bit odd that Moroso makes a Gen 4 specific pickup but includes the extra hardware that's not needed. I prefer not to remove the OEM main cap stud if I don't have to so going to leave it as is and bolt it up.

Just to close this out, I bolted up the Moroso pickup to the factory OEM post. I used the Moroso O-ring and bolts for the pump end and support end. Fit perfectly.
