We are trying to select a panoramic rear view mirror for my cobra. I dont want to put a side mirror on the car if I can help it. I am been looking at two types of rear view panoramic mirrors. The ones that clip on the existing rear view mirror or the ones with a suction cup that attaches to the windshield. Do the suction type mirrors have a history of falling off as you go down the road? I have seen that happening in the past. I am curious about what you have experienced?
Thanks
Cleve
If you can find a mount that glues to the glass, I think that would be more secure than a suction mount. I have a glued on mirror and haven't had any issues with many years on the road.

I don't agree about not having a side mirror. Ideally two. But that's not what you asked about... I'd recommend a physical attachment of the mirror you're describing to the top of the windshield. A panoramic mirror is likely to be more heavy than a regular mirror. Don't think I'd trust either a glued on mirror or a suction cup. Keep in mind as well if it falls off it will be onto a painted surface. Not nice. I have a glued on mirror in my Coupe and it's been OK. But it's a regular mirror. Nothing special. I did find out though that a windshield shade is not my friend with that kind of attachment. On one particularly hot and sunny day, the heat between the shade and the mirror attachment is the one time mine let go. Lesson learned.

Depending on where you live it might not be street legal with no side mirrors. I know in California it wouldn’t be.
I mounted my rearview mirror on the windshield frame with a bracket sold on etsy. If I am not mistaken there are some made of metal as well as plastic sold there. Or, you could most likely fabricate one yourself if you were so inclined. Here is a pic of mine.221735
If you want side mirrors you can actually see something in and don't have to drill into the body of the car, these are fantastic:

A true "form meets function" solution! Here is a picture to show what they look like. You'll also see my windshield-mounted mirror, which, as Paul pointed out is not nearly as large/heavy as a panoramic mirror.

I used those as well, except mine are convex, which give a little wider view. I’ve been impressed with how solid they are! And significantly lower cost than the breeze beauties.

Totally agree. Excellent field of view from both side mirrors.
I went with the black anodized version: https://breezeautomotive.com/shop/billet-aluminum-side-view-mirror-set-with-black-anodized-finish/

I used the breeze side mirrors that mount to the wind wings as well. I cant say enough good about them after 500+ miles. I also mounted the center mirror to the top of the windshield.

I made a windshield mounted bracket out of angled aluminum that I polished. Use #6 square bolts to fit the channel.
I also wanted the single fender mounted DS bullet side mirror because of the look and swapped the glass out with a convex mirror.

Mirrors? It is all about where you are going, not where you've been!

Where did you mount the side mirrors from Speedway and are those at speedway all convex? If not which one did you specifically order? Send pic. if possible. I dont see how they would mount on the doors.
Thank you very much.

I'm looking at these as well. I think they mount on the windshield posts.

Like others on here I have the Breeze mirrors and not only do they look good but I find them to be functional.

For my rearview mirror I designed and had 3D printed an aluminum mount for the windshield and used a Billet Specialties mirror.
