While Factory Five has cancelled the 818 and the GTM. There may be hope for a new mid engined car from FFR to take their place.

My post about Dave Smith telling the world there is a new mid engined car in the works at FFR (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?51719-Factory-Five-GT40&p=596431&viewfull=1#post596431)

What do you think?

I also hope they do another mid-engined kit but I would prefer more like the 818 than the GTM. I love the 818 concept: donor car based; on a common platform; light weight; more of a track car, custom than a supercar vibe.
I see the attraction of the V-8 based car, hard to beat the sound and torque, but I'd go lighter.

One point about the 818 that I’d like to mention since I’m particularly thankful for is that the 818 kit served as a kind of ‘entry-level’ kit that was at a lower price point and relatively less intimidating to build. If it didn’t exist I would have looked at kits from different companies and if I couldn’t find one I liked at a lower price point I might have never even stayed interested in this great hobby and wonderful community
