I purchased C Nutting’s 289 FIA car. Quite pleased but curious.
289 FIA for sale

Chris didn’t have any of the engine internal specs and Mike Forte was reluctant to provide much detail but did send a copy of the original invoice.

So, what I know is from general observations or the engine invoice.
1966 289 block
Indicated as machined for hydraulic roller lifters
Edelbrock #7121 Performer RPM intake manifold
Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads Guessing the #60225 1.90” intake valves
Roller rockers marked as “302 1.60” but w/o mfg’s name
Quick Fuel QFHR-680-VS 680 CFM, vac, e-choke
Petronix 302 distributor, vac advance
Mechanical fuel pump
Shortie headers, 1-5/8” diameter (measured)
It has been offered that it may have the Ford E303 cam.
TKO-600 w/ .82 OD and 3.55 rear gears.
Runs well to 6,000 rpm, pulls 5th gear above 2,000

Since it's indicated as a "306" I'd guess that it has a 5.0 crank & pistons, then bored .030"

What I don’t know are the engine internals: crank, rods, pistons, cam, compression, etc.
Anyone have build experience with a similar Forte engine? Any internal specs, component knowledge.

Thanks,
Jim
