Hello! :D

I am new to this community. I joined in recent months, but haven't posted until now.

I am a professional Engineer, born and raised in the United Kingdom. I've lived here all my life, but have travelled to many countries, including a short visit to NYC in the USA (which I really enjoyed!)

My Cobra passion started in my mid-teens, whilst I was at school. I was given a kit car guide by a close friend, and the moment I laid eyes on a Cobra replica, I was utterly smitten. Many years have passed since, but my finances have never permitted me to take the plunge and realise my dream. I have two classic ("vintage") cars to restore and sell on before I can dive in. That is the current plan, anyway. ;)

I have an account on Talk Cobra ("CobraBoy") and have been a member on Club Cobra since 2000 (also "CobraBoy"). My usual handle - CobraBoy - was already taken on this forum.

It has given me enormous joy to have watched Factory Five Racing grow and grow, in stature, in your wonderful community and in the quality and variety of the products. My particular flavour of Cobra would be a 427 SC replica, probably in one of the original shades of blue. Current thinking is to opt for a stroked Windsor at the magic 427 ci, probably in the 550 horsepower range. A five-speed transmission would be preferred for highway cruising.

Anyway, feel free to say hi! :D

Paul

Welcome! and Howdy! I guess I beat the regular and more senior members to it. Or at least that's the way it appears on my end.

I'm still waiting on the completion and delivery of my 289. I agree with you wholeheartedly about F5. I fell in love with the Shelby Cobra when I first saw one at a car show as a teen. About 10 years out from retirement, I started researching replica kit companies and in my opinion, F5 was the best overall design for safety and ease of build. I found the forum in 2019 and just looked from the outside. Now that I pulled the trigger and actually purchased one, I have many more questions and need to figure out how to efficiently search this knowledge base. The forum is filled with an amazing, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly bunch of builders who are willing to help or point you in the right direction.

Best of luck with your future build!
James
