I got good news today. The built Godzilla engine I ordered is ready to ship. They dynoed it and the results are below. 692 hp and 675 ft/lbs of torque! Having the engine here will make it easier to decide where I need to locate things in the engine compartment.

The bad news for the build is that I have to get my hip replaced in early December. I will be lame for a while. For those of you who have been keeping score at home, that will mean I have a twice-rebuilt and fused right ankle, two fake knees, and now two fake hips. Thanks, football. One of my kids said, "You are an antique". I said "No....I am a resto-mod. A classic with all modern underpinnings" lol.

I am pushing to finish the brake install, fuel system, and attach the trans and clutch before the surgery, so when recovered, I can get the engine in.

Stay tuned.

Great to hear the good news! Those are impressive numbers :) Looking over the Godzilla Mk5 again while at SEMA last week and was struck again by how jam packed it is!

Sorry to hear about the bad news. You aren't going to have many OEM parts left! I'm going to be joining you...looking at replacement for both knees as soon as I can get some of these cars out of the shop. I'll listen to any advise you have to pass along since you're well experienced...

Good luck,
Jeff

"You are an antique". I said "No....I am a resto-mod."

Haha, I love that response. Good luck with the surgery. You're already a pro at it, so I'm sure it will go well

That engine is an absolute monster. Can't wait to see it shoehorned into your car

Jeff the secret to a full recovery from knee replacement is the PT. The harder you push it the better the result will be. Push until your PT guy cries "Uncle" lol.

Aleinsteingenius is correct. Be an animal in PT and your recovery will not only be quicker but the long term out come will be better. It hurts but do it. I've had 15 surgeries and have done really well with PT on all but one. That was my second operation and 1st of 2 on that shoulder because I blew off the PT. In total 4 knee replacements, 3 shoulder surgeries, 1 each elbow, abdomen, removal of Sartorius Muscle in right thigh and then a few heart and cancer procedures to top it all off. If you're a fit guy some of the stuff you do in PT seems silly but trust me, do it and do it religiously.
