Well Guys here it is the new product from one of your favorite mirror suplier D. C .C and distibuted by B....e (very soon). I had the oportunity to get one of the first production unit from Terry and let me tell you its again a great product! it is perfectly sized and shape for our roadster. Made of billet aluminium highly polished, It match up very well with the side view mirror. No distorsion at all in the lense and it is sized not to impeed on your over all vision. I installed it using the Dark Water braket. Lets hear all those positive comments on this new product.

Sorry but it's not to my taste. The mounting attachment is too crude and clunky, and the crescent bracket overbuilt for the size of the mirror IMO.

Jean, Glad you like it! I ran a version of this on my car for a long time. Solid, no vibration that is common with the original style. The dash mount looks awesome and is solid as well. Once I get it ready, those who would like something better than the original can unscrew it from their dash and install the custom version in the same spot. Your car has turned out beautiful! I love your custom touches that make it yours!
I'm honored that you allowed me to be part of your build!

I have a very similar mirror on mine from Speedway made under the Mister Roadster brand. I would prefer a more rectangular shape so as not to lose so much rear view area.. Football shapes are not ideal. I've been looking for a upgrade that is larger but not too large. This is a area an vendor could have a winner if they get it right.

Its pretty much impossible to get this area of the build "right".......just one of those things!

Understood! The very difficult part is to get something that can attach to the top bar with very little to work with that looks good AND does not vibrate. Attaching to the glass as our modern vehicles can work. As far as the shape is concerned it is up the you to chose the shape you think looks best. Once I get things rolling from the center mirror perspective, I think the best thing to do is have an A la'carte menu that gives you a choice of the top of windshield style, windshield mount or the dash mount style with different styles and sizes of mirror heads including the retangular version that mimics the original but is much more stable.
Thank you for the input!

Terry,
I never got a chance to look at Juan's mirror before he left the meeting Saturday morning, but since he has a rag top, I'm guessing that the mirror does not interfere with the way the rag top mounts to the top of the windshield? Or is his mounted to the dash?

His is mounted to the dash in the stock location. I purposely created the same plate to be a direct replacement. Looks good!

I went to the MOT build school and the instructor there had a good idea: find a nice looking mirror and use one of those window adhesives to stick it to the top of the windshield. Has anyone done this? Got pics?

Been there Dumb that. Well it was back in my Gelcoat Summer shake down. worked great until it fell off due to the heat. That got me concerned about the paint if it happened later on. I chickened out and after buying about 5 different mirrors ended up with the kit mirror on a Dark water clone bracket. Some where out there is the perfect mirror and bracket. I think its hiding behind the cure for the common cold.

Used the stock FFr mirror on a home made mount at the top of the windshield. Its rock steady, vibration isnt an issue

Here are some pictures of his car and the center mirror. He requested that it be slightly taller as was his original to compensate for the hardtop and softtop when they are on.
Solid, no vibration.

The Dreamcar Company Rear view mirrors, and center mirrors are by far the best designed product out there. They do not sell off the shelf stuff, they design and fabricate the stuff. I do not own a Factory Five roadster but my Superformance Roadster will not have anything but the Dreamcar Company Mirrors on it. They plain just work. Once you experience their quality is very hard to go back to just plain standard (cheap) mirrors.

You will not regret it. Quality all the way, guaranteed. Wow.

I've been following this thread for a while and I would like to offer some constructive criticism. You have gotten some feedback that the brackets looked "clunky". I sort of like them and I realize you are going for strength and reduction of vibration (which can drive you crazy when looking thru a rearview). Here is my suggestion. I think if you chamfer the edges of the brackets a little (base too), it will change the look, completely. It would still retain the engineered look but refine it to the point that it would be more pleasing to the eye. IMO. WEK.

Thank you so much for the input! I agree! The chamfer idea is something that can be very easily done. I actually thought about doing this to the wing brackets when I first started making these. I think I will have this as part of the ala carte options.
Thank you!
