Ok so I know there’s been a fair amount posted on this but I’m hoping for some pictures.
Going to be putting a new set of tires on the 17” wheels as mine are +10years
Currently running the Toyo Extensa HP with 245/45r17 out front and the 315/35r17 out back.
I’m not tracking the car however enjoy spirited driving and live in a “cooler” climate with not-so-great roads so I’m not looking for something soft and sticky that picks up all the gravel when warmed up on our infrequently hot days. I’m running a 8.8 solid rear with a stock 302 but hope to one day soon have it swapped out for a ~400hp 347-ish.

Last owner curbed the front rims which I’ve since had fixed so I’m thinking of the 255/40r17 out front to protect them a bit and keeping with the same size out back.

I’m not a fan of the raked look but is it actually that noticeable with a 255/40 out front and the 315/35 out back?
Anyone have an image of those sizes on their roadster?

Any recommendations as to which tire, size and load rating for my desired application (ie Toyo Extensa, Michelin Pilot Sport, Nitto, etc)?

Assuming the front wheels are 9" wide I always ran 275-40r17.

For a street car with occasional spirited driving it's hard to beat the Nitto 555G2. I always go with 255/40-17 in front when using a 9" rim. They'll bulge enough to help protect the wheel lip. The .7" difference in O.D. (remember that will only amount to .35" in ride height) between it and the 315/35-17 rear doesn't really create a visual "rake."

I’m actually not sure if they’re 9” wide out front. Did FFR offer more than one 17” front wheel in the Halibrand?
