I have never used a Pertronix but a friend of mine had one on his 68 GT350. He took it off after the second failure and replaced it with a Duraspark system. It's been on there for several years, and as far as I know, he has not had any issues.

I used a Duraspark system on my road race Mustang. The rules of the class required that we use OEM ignition systems. I carried a spare Duraspark box in the trailer but never had any ignition related issues.

I’m using a Pertronix Ignitor (original type) in a Ford dual point distributor that’s Controlling an MSD 6A. So far I haven’t had any real problems with this setup.

I have a billet Pertronix distributor that uses an Ignitor III module in my 68 Barracuda. It has been stone reliable for over 15 years.

I have used a number of pertronix kits over the years on different applications.
Currently have a III in a 'stock' distributor in a 302 in my 65 Mustang.
