I feel like a kid counting down the days before Christmas! :p
I wired the final payment to Factory 5 this week and scheduled my pick up at the factory for Saturday March 10. I have a U-Haul trailer reserved and a dolly that another FFR owner gave me to help transport the kit. (Thanks Gary!)

Thinking a little "Welcome Home Party" is in order I have a couple of neighbors and friends that will be waiting to see the car when I get home and help unload. Any local guys are welcome to stop by to celebrate the occasion. My neighbor is as excited as I am and already offered to take the required "cheesey" photo with me holding a steering wheel and sitting in the car.

Ahhhhh, I remember that day well. Picked mine up way back in Oct '09, but the memory of the roadtrip from IL to FFR is still fresh. I particularly enjoyed the time that Dave Smith and a few of the team took to show me and my friend around the place. I came away with an even greater appreciation for what goes into these cars. Just as impressed was my friend, who didn't know much about FFR before the trip, but who is still talking about getting one of his own someday.

Here's a picture of me leaving FFR with 7074 - this was on their photo gallery because that was the day that Two Guys Garage was there filming, so they were having an open house and doing a caravan down to Plymouth with a bunch of customer cars.

My neighbor is so stoked. I don't know who is more excited me or him. It's not a matter of if he will order a FFR someday but when! These cars insight passion in just about every guy I've told about the kit.

My kits will be ready on the same day! Just sent the wire transfer yesterday and it arrived today (for once in my life a wire transfer went super fast, it was out of my bank account though of course... the ones coming in always take days...) Anyway, I wish I could pick it up, but being form Seattle, the kit will have to come to me... still super excited though so I can definitely relate!

I envy all of you.

I've spent the last year buying parts, and paid for my kits a few weeks ago. Mark D. is picking it up on March 2nd for me.

I'm not going to see it for another few months. I don't even know what is in the boxes - all I have is photos of the boxes for all the parts I ordered over the last year so I know they were delivered.

I have to contain my excitement or I'll just go nuts. I can't even tell people what I'm about to embark on because I have nothing to show for it!

Thanks guys! Even my wife doesn't quite get my excitement. She may be thinking she will be competing with a new mistress:rolleyes: ......She may be right.....I'll have to make a conscious effort to balance garage time with my new redhead with quality time for my current red head.....:o And yes I am a lucky man to have 2 hot red heads in my life!

GloP and Martin I am fortunate to live just under 2 hours away from FFR. I wish every car guy had someplace this cool to visit near their home. Though GloP you are near Girot's Garage. That is one of my top ten car car guy places to visit! You are going to have to get some pictures of you with your roadster parked out front of their store. Martin you have some really cool car history in the UK...any cool tracks or events near you?

I said only 6 more weeks her reply then youll be in the garage. someone has a saying on this or the other forum Happy wife , happy life so true. this is the second time I thought about canceling my order then i think it would be alot easier to get a new wife then start over saving for a FFR :D

mg2 - My wife told me not too long ago that one of the neighborhood women said to her recently at a party that she's lucky that I'm home in the garage as too many of her friends' husbands are out running around at bars, etc... Sometimes the garage is a pretty good place to be.

Cheaper to save for another FFR than getting a new wife OR work on a compromise :p.......ask me how I know! Went through a divorce 12 yrs ago and just now in position to finally get another sports car. Lost my Porsche, house, and pretty much everything else.....(Though I could give you the name of her attorney. He was better than mine. :mad:) I am just starting to work on some things in the garage while I wait for my kit to arrive but have an agreement with my (new/current) wife already to save at least one weekend day for her and the kids. So I get either all day Saturday or Sunday but not both. I will probably spend some week nights tinkering after the kids and my wife go to bed. But you are right... happy wife, happy life! ;) I am in no hurry to complete the build and experience tells me compromise the better part of valor.

yes I know cheaper to keep her. almost went to the Harley dealer Saturday dont need to work on it but I would rather have the FFR.

Pick up of my kit at Factory Five now just 5 days away! Built the body buck this weekend. Tried using the new Mark IV template for the rear of the buck......not sure I got that right but we will see :p

Got some friends coming over when I get the kit home to help put the body on the buck then some pizza and adult beverage to celebrate the occasion with some NASCAR or Speed channel on the tube!

I'm such a kid.....and having so much Fun!

Way cool Scott! Two Roadsters a week apart....;) If you are bored or just want to get an early peek at your up coming excitement you (or any other local guys) are welcome to stop by my place Saturday. We should be home with the car around 12:00 - 1:00 PM if all goes well. I have a 9:00 am appt to pick up my kit at FFR and figure an hour or so to load. Give me a pm and I'll send you directions.
