I am installing an AOD in my roadster. If anyone has this same configuration, what dipstick filler tube are you using?

I used a Mr. Gasket 9703G dipstick for a TH350. It's considerably cheaper than the Lokar one, but the "ADD" mark is low compared to the stock AOD dipstick, so I took a chisel, remarked it, and cross-hashed the appropriate range.

I have a 93 AOD with an 89 HO 302 in my MK1. Using the stock filler tube and dipstick, fits fine.

Whatever you use be aware of one thing. In Ford vehicles the transmission was installed tail down by around 7 degrees. This means the dipstick at the front is at the high point. In the roadster the transmission is pretty much flat/horizontal. The indicated "full" on the dipstick when in the roadster will result in significantly lower ATF in the tranny than you need. I fill mine, with engine running, to above the cross hatched lines on the dipstick. If you overfill it will dump out of the rear vent, will not damage the tranny, just mess up your floor/drive. Good luck.

Great find! Are you running a TH350 trans? I'm running a 4R70W Ford. Wonder if the dipstick tube fitting at the trans is the same?

No, I'm running an AOD, I just took a gamble and tried the TH350 one. It fits a little on the loose side, but I've never had any leakage there. ( My main leak issue as at the shift-shaft, which I plan to fix soon, but that's another story.) Reviews I've read from TH350 owners say it fits loose too, so I'm guessing the TH350 and AOD dipstick tubes are the same or VERY close in size. In any case, as far as I know the AOD and 4R70W dipstick tubes are the same size so it SHOULD work...?
