Do you recommend raising the seat height on the drivers side and if so how much should you raise the seat?
Thanks

I raised the front about an inch but kept the back on the deck because I wanted it to have more lean back. That worked really well.

Ultimately, it's your car, put the seats where you want

My advice-Try sitting in the unmounted seat before doing anything permanent.

Even though I purchased a seat slider, it was never used. I mounted the driver seat directly to the floor to make it as low as possible. I'm 6''2" and needed to move the seat back as far as I could in the cockpit. If you raise it at the front, it limits how far back it sits. as the angle at the top of the seat back contacts the rear bulkhead. This allowed for more knee clearance below the dash, for a bit extra leg room, and to keep my eyesight below the top of the windshield frame.

I cut 1x 4's & 2x4's and placed under seat till I liked it. 3" lift in front and 1.5" in back worked for me. I have the thin kirkey seats for my 6'3" frame. Do with body on!. I did add a slider and used aluminum angle to get the dimensions.

If you are short, like me, and are working on a Mk5, you will need 3 1/2-4" and lower the steering wheel angle somewhat.

Bottom line it takes some trial fittings to get what you feel is best for you. I found sliders worked best for me as I can move the set back to get in/out & forward to get a good position on the pedals. You need to be extra careful with any style of competition seat with high bolsters. The passenger seat is bolted to the floor in a rearward position.

It's kind of like asking what size pants to get. Kidding aside, I agree with everyone here -- fit the seats with the body on, steering wheel installed, and if possible the windshield. This will give you a good perspective about how to adjust the seat for you.
