I'm replacing the lower radiator hose on my MK1 and it is driving me crazy. I have been to the local NAPA several times now with no luck. I have the old number for the NAPA hose #8080 that was used but it does not cross reference to anything they have.
The old setup used 2 hoses that were joined together. They have the upper part which is stock for a 1990 302 but the extension that was used to reach the sloped radiator is the problem. I'd prefer one solid hose but the old joined one has worked well enough.
Any tips? Does anyone have the number for that second piece of bottom hose or a number for one that will work?
Thank you.

I think I told you on another site that you can do it in one piece by using the upper hose from a 1994-2001 Dodge Ram pickup with the 318 or 360 engine. Dayco # is 71713 which you should be able to crossover to NAPA, Autozone, etc.

You did and thank you but Napa cross referenced it, I bought it and it doesn't work. The end that goes to the water pump is 1.5" while the water pump is a 1.75. The bend round the frame to the radiator is also off. Did you have to cut the hose and put in a connection pipe or did you force it to fit?

One question, are both your lower hoses 1 ¾” all the way to the radiator? Is there a reducer involved on the radiator side? Does the hose coming from the water down taper down to 1 ½”?
Also, there is another older forum called FFCars.com. If you scroll down to the bottom you will see a section called Library and it will have years from 2002-2006. If you click on 2002 you can do a search for hose and then click on Advanced, under search other forums scroll down to one of these early years and check for threads on radiator hoses.
Hope this helps,
