So, I just had one of those oh sh*t moments just now. I went to Trigo's website to get ready to order the pin drive wheels for my 289 car and.... they've been discontinued!!!!! I spoke to the owner and he sald that he pulled the plug on them two months ago due to low demand. BTW Vintage Wheels is also out of stock of the wheels.
Naturally my kit has been configured with the narrow front suspension and Moser rear. I think I can run the pin drive 427 wheels, but I'm not sure and naturally I ordered the car so I could run the 289 wheels. To say I'm not happy is a big understatement.
I know this is a stretch, but if anyone has a set of Trigo 289 pin drive wheels that they aren't planning to use I'd be very interested in buying them - thanks!!!

Is Vintage temporary out of stock or discontinued? I got a set of pin drive from him and they were amazing. They're made by American Racing.

Good point - his website said OOS. I’ll call and check!

Nope, I'm wrong - Vintage's website says they're sold out. A member mentioned on a separate thread earlier that Vintage was reselling Trigo's wheels - seems that's the case...

So, I just got off the phone with Bob - as you said, very nice guy. It turns out that he's working with another foundry to have the FIA wheels cast. The six-pin wheels are almost done, and he's expecting the five-pin version to be ready in early 2026. Whew!!!! I'm on his list so when they are ready I can place my order. It turns out that Bob is a big fan of the FIA wheels and wants to make sure they're always an option for those of us who want to run them.
Thanks Mike for the suggestion. I feel SO much better. After ensuring I could run these rims I couldn't believe they were no longer an option.

Woot woot!
When I was assembling mine I discovered he had sent the wrong pin lugs. I called him and he sent the correct ones right out, said to return the wrong ones at my convenience. Didn't seem the least bit concerned when or if he got them back.

My understanding after emailing with Trigo was the 427 pin drive wheels will also work on a 289, just doesn't look period correct. Trigo had good prices too. Probably have to pay a lot more now?

Well, if you want the pin drive FIA rims then reach out to Bob at Vintage Wheels and he'll put you on the list for when they come out next year :)

As others have said, Bob at Vintage Wheels is a great guy. I am glad he will continue with the FIA wheels. I really like the look of the FIA wheels and there were a few of the early 427 cars that came from Shelby with the FIA wheels.
When I ordered my wheels from Bob, he sent me the tracking# when they shipped. On the day they were to arrive the UPS guy pulled up and handed me a package that contained the pins, some wire to secure the spinners, and the caps for the adapters. I ask if there were any more boxes and he said "nope, that's it". I panicked and sent Bob an email telling him it appears my wheels have been lost. He replied immediately and advised they were coming in two separate shipments. About two hours later, another UPS guy pulled up and delivered the wheels...
