It seems the stock 302 powered Mustangs used approximately a 24 lb flywheel. I've heard you can get by with lighter on a lighter car which will help with rev speed. It won't be a daily driver (I was cautioned that very light flywheels require engine speed and slipping to get the car moving), but I don't want to be changing clutches frequently. Possibly due to the 1000 lb weight loss compared to a Mustang, a pretty light flywheel (like 14 lbs) would be similar? Or is that just too dang light?
What do you all recommend for flywheel weight for a 302 powered Gen 3 Coupe with a TKX and IRS?
