Back from a great weekend in Florida. I was invited to tag along with the Deep South Cobra Club riding passenger in my buddys Factory Five Cobra. Got to meet the infamous FFR builder Henry Renaud. We were part of the Lake Mirror Concourse and car show. Friday morning, we, as a group, paraded 21 cobras, 3 GT40's, 1 FFR 65 Daytona and an Aston Martin down to the Sebring Race track where we got to join the Porsche club and do a few hot laps on the track. They limited our speeds but it was fast enough, any more and you would be finding the driver and car limitations, almost like they knew where to cut us off on speed. One of the GT40 drivers was Camilo Pardo. If you don't know (and don't know why you would) He was the lead designer for the new version of the GT40 and also the GT90 (awesome amazing car for 25 year old concept, google it). Camilo was very nice and gracious with everyone and did a few drawings of their cars at the track. Fast forward to my flight back north and who do I run in to at the airport, Camilo. We sat at the airport bar and had drinks as he told me stories of his time with Carroll Shelby and the rest of the Shelby design team and builders.
