The Ron Francis alternator wiring harness has two wires going to the alternator.
My alternator has a connection for the red wire but it also a plug port.
I have a blueprint/sniper2 and there is a plug under the distributor that looks like it might fit the alternator, just a guess as I have just started getting the engine sorted and have not looked into the sniper system.
Anyway, I did not expect this issue.

The distributor most definitely does not get plugged into the alternator.

What engine are you running? You may only need the red wire on the alternator depending on your setup.

Check out this page... about 3/4 down is a schematic that appears to be for FFR/RF harness. I installed a 3g on my 89 Foxbody and also put one in my road race car that I wired from "scratch". It's been a while, and I don't recall exactly how I did either, but I do recall using a light in the road race car to turn on the regulator.

There is a section in the painless manual that explains the different alternators pretty well. Take a look as the same applies to the RF harness.

I found this to be a great read - even if you’re using the RF harness.
