Tail Light troubles

So I installed the trailer adapter in the dash so when i go to the rear to the car I have the Black wire as ground, tan wire going to the red on the light on both sides then the white wire on the light gets either yellow or green for the turn signal. I have blinkers and breaks but no tail lights. If it switch the green wire and the tan wire I get tail lights but no blinkers.

I am open to suggestions.

Are you using the brake controller that came with the kit? Mine failed almost immediately. Bought a Tekonsha unit and have had no problem since.

I also had some trouble getting it to work but eventually figured out what I was doing wrong. I can send you pictures of mine if that helps had my electrican come over and he set me straight. It works perfectly.
