Happy weekend, or as I started calling it, Cobra Time. I bought the Breeze Seat Mounts and figured out where they need to go. I drilled the holes in the floor to mount the bases. I plan to buy Thermotec, and eventually carpet the cockpit. I've been searching threads to see how most people install the bases. I'm specifically referring to 'which component is first, second, and third. I didn't find a lot of talk about this. I have seen instructions to rivet the base directly to the floor metal. My two concerns are, 1. using the rivets provided, I want to get through to the floor metal and make sure that they are secure, and 2. making sure that the studs in the base have enough length to engage the bolt when the seat mount goes onto the base. Can anyone help me understand the best way to do this? Thanks a million!

I mount it directly to the floor. I insulate around the base. I then carpet over it and cut holes for the studs to stick out.

Ditto to what Mike said.

What I did was to lay FatMat heat and sound insulation onto the floor, then determine where the seats would mount. I then used a marker to outline the Breeze bases on the FatMat so I could cut-out the outlined area to mount the bases directly onto the aluminum floor.
