Mark V Door Latch Question

For you Beta Builders or someone who has installed the door latches, do you need to trim the second ear in the latch mechanism? It seems to be 1/8” too big to fit inside the cover? It seems like a no brainer, just wanted to make sure I’m not crazy. The manual didn’t address it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, unfortunately. I say that because when I built mine the covers had not yet been designed or delivered to us and I assembled them with the handle on that "ear" rather than the top one. Once I got the covers I changed it but I actually found the latches to be much more comfortable and easier to use with it located there---however Jesper had a different plan :( :p

Always happy to try to help! I made a mod for the latch striker post but haven't downloaded the photos yet. I'll try to do that this weekend and post it up for you and any other Mk5 builders who may be interested.
