I have my engine sitting on the stand and it occurred to me now is the perfect time to figure out which is the preferred mounting method. I did a Google search of the forum and didn't really find anything definitive. If studs are the preferred mounting method, do we go with the factory pieces or aftermarket like ARP? I guess the same question applies to bolts. Thanks in advance.

I used all of the stock studs on the passenger side. You can use most on the deriver side if you have them.

Thanks Mike. That's the kind of feedback I'm looking for. My Gen 4 came with studs on both sides so I think I am good to go. When you say I can use most on the driver's side, are there a few that don't work with the headers and I will need bolts? I will also need to source the appropriate nuts.

On my Coupe, I removed all the studs and used bolts. On the driver's side, it's nearly impossible to get the header's over the studs given the tight quarters. You could do a mixture as Mike said. That's fine. I just prefer to have them all the same. I used the bolts that came with my headers from Gas-N. I put them in with high temp RTV and nothing has moved or leaked in 5 seasons and nearly 10K miles. I've used some of the fancier locking bolts on previous builds. But wasn't sure they were necessary and added work for an already somewhat frustrating exercise.

Thanks Paul. I actually did another search of the forum yesterday and turned up one of your posts that had this info in it. I'll probably make a decision one way or another this week. I need to order my pipes as well so that may help me make a decision.

Best $6 I have spent in a really long time. This will allowed me to get to every bolt relatively easily. Capri Tools 9/16 in. Stubby... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097Z8Y15V?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I have a few of those but not in 9/16ths. I would've thought the header bolts or nuts would be metric though?
