Anyone using the Finish Line glove box in their dash layout?

If so comments on quality and installation.

Can the glove box be covered with leather or vinyl that matches the dash?

Any pictures helpful. Thanks.

There's a reason their name (one word) is censored on this website like any expletive. Completely inconsistent experiences with them. Caveat Emptor!

Hello,

Placed a order 10 days ago with "them".....have since sent a couple of e-mails , texts and voicemails. I've heard absolutely NOTHING back. I hope I'm not out $300 bucks. Wish I would have known about them prior. Would have definitely bought my items from someplace else. Customer service is non-existent.

This is what credit card charge backs are for.

I ordered two things from them about 2 months ago. One came in 4 days; the other came in a week. Guess it just depends...

Well, coming up on 3 weeks now with no word from "Finish Line Accessories. I have called , texted and e-mailed and have not received any response whatsoever. Has anyone ever filed a consumer complaint with the California Attorney General ?

I would hate to do this but it's not leaving me with any other recourse.

This is interesting reading. Despite the complaints and warnings, they carried a couple of items I really wanted and couldn't find elsewhere. I went ahead and rolled the dice, about a $150 order if I recall correctly, and all items showed up in about a week. Pretty normal transaction. I am not sure what goes on behind the curtain as my experience was fine, or lucky, or both.

Not defending them by any stretch of the imagination, but I think a lot of anger directed at this vendor is primarily because they're not a forum sponsor. I've had experiences of poor communication from forum sponsor vendors and that is usually brushed off as "oh, they're just a one-man operation. Give them a break." This vendor is also basically a one-man operation. I've ordered from them multiple times and always received my parts - usually with no communication. They might arrive in days or weeks, but to my knowledge, there hasn't been anyone that has never received their parts. If you want to roll the dice, go for it. You'll get your stuff, just no telling when. In my experience, it's all been very high quality parts.

Tim,
I had the same experience using gift certificates. No complaint.

Delays and extremely poor communication has been an issue for several years. The website is misleading, as I suspect the customer feedbacks shown are containing much of what was probably what the business's original owner, Enzo Alibrandi rec'd.

That said, although it is horribly frustrating for customers, from what I can tell those that can remain patient seem to be satisfied eventually.

Thanks for the buyer beware feedback.

I promise to never mention again ********** accessories on the forum. I wasn't expecting all the negative feedback.

Does anyone have any ideas for a DIY glove box? There doesn't seem to be very many 3rd party options out there.

I want something that mounts from the backside of the dash with a relatively flush appearance on the front side that can be covered to match the dash.

I'm leaning towards the idea that Fixit (John D) used to build his glove box.

I made DIY gloveboxes on my 20th Anniversary Roadster and also My Gen 3 Coupe. Plan on doing the same with my current Mk5 Roadster build. I have a 3D printer now and may add that to the mix somehow. But TBD.
