Now if you have the time to read through this all thank you.
I have been obsessed with pre runners ever since I went to a little highschool meet up with a couple of buddies and saw some trucks jumping a little jump we built I knew I needed to build one myself but as a lot of you know it gets to 6 figures very very quickly and I was still in highschool so I did what kids do bought a POS truck and did my best to get it somewhat to ride nice…. First problem truck as junk missing parts that were important if you were off roading not so much if it was a street driving truck. I had that one bent the frame pretty much totaled it. So I sold it basically for scrape the 20k total I had in the truck had to get rid of for about 5k…
So now what well my grandpa had a factory five cobra and saw this new truck they had and the frame itself had him hooked to the teeth he sat me down and said I have some money for you in the will do you want that or do you wanna build a killer truck together I said the truck of course. So he ordered that kit and got the donor truck.
The donor came from Texas and I essentially got it to a frame in 2 months good progress. Now we’re kind of at a Stan still to wait for the rest of the kit to show up but until then I would love some help from people that have had these trucks or know more knowledge than me. There’s really just one thing I don’t like about the factory five the height it’s only about 3 inches higher then a stock one and the back seems to sit higher than the front. I want to give the front a bit more lift. Like a good bit more now I know once you start just cranking the spring down it can lift but also it can ruin the ride. So now spindles here’s the problem they don’t make straight spindles for a 2020 truck that gives it lift so that won’t work. Is there any ideas that you guys have? Maybe a custom lift spindle or trying a different year model one. Idk if I could get just a couple more inches out of this truck I think it would look so much better.

Welcome to the forum.
How much higher do you want it over a stock f150? Recommend ride height is 11” from the bottom of the frame to the floor. That’s where I set mine at. On the attached picture you can see how much higher it sits compared to a stock f150.
The manual says you can change that recommend ride height to +4” or -2”. I played around with a +3” higher for a total of 14” clearance and it was quite high. Ended up going with the 11” set up.

Not sure how much higher you might want it but, my recommendation would be build it as is. See how it sits before spending money on spindles. You already have the stock spindles so it won’t cost you extra. If you need more height then spend the extra money on new ones.
Hope this helps.

I want to give the front a bit more lift. Like a good bit more

I get it that every 19yr old with a truck for whatever reason wants to squat it.. but please, just don't. In some states its already illegal and for good reason.

I read the OP question as wanting to remove the rake and make the truck level, not build one with a 'Carolina Squat'...that would just look horrid in my eyes.

But I am an old guy LOL

I hope you're right. I just took 'good bit more' = Carolina Squat.

This is awesome. I love watching the build threads on these. Please take lots of pictures and post regularly if you can. Look forward to following along. My only advice to anyone is build your build. Don't worry what anyone other than you and your grandfather think. Make it as plain or outrageous is you like.

Welcome aboard!

Hey guys so yeah I am definitely not doing a Carolina squat don’t worry but I more want it leveled. At the beginning of the month I went to the off road expo here in socal got some pics of a truck and kind of how I want it to sit

So looking for a something a little more like This and when I saw it in person with Nate it did seem to have a good little bit of rake but on that rig they did not have any pre load on the front shocks like zero preload so that could be it too.

No I agree with you that look is disturbing I just want it more leveled than anything maybe a little bit of squat but no more than 1/2 an inch or so

Awesome, and that example looks great! Also an incredible opportunity for you and your Grandpa. I hope you enjoy the build together and have a long time to enjoy its completion!
