Hi gents,

My kit is arriving in a few weeks, and I'm prepping the garage for its arrival. I'm planning to add some wall shelves to store some of the 40+ boxes of parts that come with the kit.

I was wondering if there is a common size to these boxes - so that I can size my shelves accordingly. I realize that some boxes will be pretty large, such as the seats and gas tank. But I was hoping that FFR uses a common size box for most of the piece-parts that come with the kit.

Yeah, it's probably a pretty strange question, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask ;)

Thanks!

Rob

Many of the boxes are the large, flat boxes you see in this picture. I have long since disposed of all of mine, but I'd say they are maybe 36x24x10. I'm sure someone will measure theirs and post it here.

Not a standard size. I use some Costco 4 tier wire shelving units, I think I have 3 for the FFR stuff. Some boxes either didn't fit or didn't make sense - windshield, radiator, seats, and carpet (which I laid out per the instructions to flatten over time).

The most common box size FF uses is 34L x 22W x 7D. Probably 2/3 or so of the boxes are that size. The AFCO radiator box is similar, except 24W. There are a few smaller. And a few outliers much larger, like the steering rack, side pipes, and seats. Wheels are in boxes roughly square size of the diameter and width.

I built shelves 24" deep in both of my shops.

You'll need a 10 yard dumpster to dispose of all the brown paper. IYKYK ;)

Jeff That’s the truth!
I ended up flattening out all the wrinkled packing paper then rolled it like a big cigar. Posted it for free on a local FB “Buy Nothing” group and it was picked up in a couple hours. It’s clean sturdy Kraft brown paper.

This is all of them. I only had door latches not show up. I put ply with in the center of the body buck and placed that on HF casters. Stowed everything in the buck and retained slot of garage space

Here's a tip. I used some of the cardboard left over to make templates of the footbox panels. Made it a lot easier to cut sound deadener with the templates premade.
