IRS Differential Vent Fitting

I can't see any fitting in my kit (Gen3 Coupe) to install a breather in the IRS rear end. There is a 3/8" (or maybe 10mm) vent hole which I expected to be threaded to take a vent fitting but it's a smooth bore (see attached photo). I'd be grateful for suggestions as to what fitting can be used to connect a vent or breather pipe - presumably it has to be push in? Thanks for your help.219885

The fitting is in a small bag inside the box the differential came in. Mine was hiding under the expanding foam the diff was sitting in. Its a press-in fitting.

Man I owe you a beer! The box was out for the trash and I found the fitting just in time - right where you said it would be - I had never lifted the bottom foam packer! Thank you!

Schweet! Good save! You'd think they would pack that tiny piece in a bit more obvious location. Or, you know, install it before it leaves Ford's manufacturing facility.

I just went through this over the weekend. The vent is likely either somewhere in my shop under a cabinet or at the bottom of my outside trash bin. I ordered a new one online and it'll be here Friday. I'm sure I'm not the first.

Bad luck Rick - it really isn't great that Ford don't pack them so they're more obvious :-(
