Hi all,

For my fellow Connecticut builders who went through inspection, did they ask for the turn signals to be on with the flashers?

This kit can't have them both operational at the same time like new cars can.

Was it an issue? The RF harness does not allow for this.

Thank you.

R.

This is a bit odd to me. If the 4-way flashers are activated, all four corners flash in unison. The turn signal position has no effect. Our Lincoln SUV works that way (just checked to confirm), my Coupe with the RF harness works that way, and I know my truck build with a GM turn signal switch used in millions of cars works that way. How else should it be expected to work?

The hazard flashers always override turn signals. Don’t believe me, go check your daily driver.

I did, and the turn signal overrides the 4 ways in our cars and my friends as well...must be a European thing.
Just wanted to be sure what the expectation is in CT inspection.

I went through Ct. inspection a long time ago but am positive the inspector never asked me to do turns while the 4ways were on . It was either one or the other. I’ve never tried to or had the need to use both. I would think the vast majority of the time folks use 4ways the vehicle is stopped unless your a semi pulling a steep hill.

Thanks, Dave. Yeah, normally you would never. 4 ways always had priority over signals in systems I ever serviced / taught over the years but there are cars out there that the signals take over. Just wanted to ask as it wasn't something I wanted to find out once I got to inspection.
